central portion of Prince Edward Island, NW. of North Rustico. Cavendish
is one most poplar tourist stops on the North American Eastern Sea Board.
Anne of Green Gables has become synonymous with the town of Cavendish.Lucy
Maud Montgomery wrote the Anne series in the early 1900's. The author
grew up in Cavendish and used her beloved hometown for inspiration. The
landscape, the people, and the way life progressed was all incorporated
into her masterpiece. Many of the areas found in the book can still be
recognized in the Cavendish area today.
